To better understand what needs to change, we can take a look at the current plans for Boston in 2030. Go Boston 2030 is a citywide planning initiative & framework to preserve and enhance Boston over the next 10 years. The main goals are to encourage affordability, drive inclusive economic growth, and prepare for climate change. Released in mid-2017, this plan, while well-intentioned, is still highly aspirational, and doesn’t actually meet the standards it needs to fully accomplish these goals. We need to show our support for these planned improvements before Go Boston 2030 can truly become a reality.
